Dal Lake with shikaras and Mughal gardens

Kashmir

Heaven on earth — Srinagar's Dal Lake, Gulmarg's gondola, and the meadow valleys of Pahalgam and Sonmarg. India's most photographed destination.

Kashmir is the destination most Indians dream of — a valley where Mughal emperors built gardens, the Beatles’ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi taught meditation, and Bollywood spent the 1960s filming romances. Srinagar is the gateway: Dal Lake, Mughal-era Shalimar and Nishat Gardens, the houseboat tradition, the floating vegetable market at dawn.

From Srinagar, the standard triangle covers Gulmarg (gondola to 4,000 m, skiing in winter), Pahalgam (the Lidder valley, gateway to Amarnath Yatra), and Sonmarg (Thajiwas glacier, gateway to Ladakh). Each is 2-3 hours from Srinagar.

Our Kashmir tour package covers the full triangle in 5 nights. For travellers doing Amarnath Yatra or continuing to Ladakh, Kashmir extends naturally.
