Kumaun — the eastern half of Uttarakhand — has a softer, more lived-in atmosphere than the Char Dham region across the Alaknanda. Nainital’s colonial-era lakefront, the Neem Karoli Baba ashram at Kainchi Dham, the heritage market lanes of Almora, and the 124-temple complex of Jageshwar Dham — all in a 5-7 day circuit.

This route works as a calm family holiday, a spiritual yatra (Kainchi Dham is famously beloved of Steve Jobs and Zuckerberg), or a base for the more demanding Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra.

Pricing depends heavily on the season (summer peaks in Nainital are ~3x off-season) and your accommodation tier — WhatsApp us for current quotes.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

When is the Kainchi Dham annual bhandara?

Every year on June 15 — the death anniversary of Neem Karoli Baba. Tens of thousands attend. We typically advise our guests to visit on adjacent days (June 13-14 or 16-17) for a more meditative darshan.

Can I add Jim Corbett to this circuit?

Yes — Jim Corbett National Park is 70 km from Nainital and naturally extends the circuit by 2 nights. We work with vetted jungle lodges and book gypsy safaris directly.
